Microservices E-Commerce Platform on Kubernetes

Built production-ready microservices e-commerce platform on self-hosted Kubernetes infrastructure with complete CI/CD automation and monitoring – no managed cloud services used.

🏗️ ARCHITECTURE:
Designed polyglot microservices architecture with 5 independent services (Node.js, Python, Go) handling product catalog, user authentication, order processing, payments, and inventory management. Deployed on self-hosted K3s cluster with PostgreSQL StatefulSet and NGINX Ingress Controller routing 42+ API endpoints.

⚙️ KUBERNETES ORCHESTRATION:

  • Production-grade deployments with 2-replica services for high availability
  • Liveness and readiness probes for automatic health monitoring and self-healing
  • Rolling update strategies for zero-downtime deployments
  • Resource limits and requests for optimal cluster performance
  • 3 namespaces with RBAC policies
  • Service discovery via Kubernetes internal DNS

🔄 CI/CD AUTOMATION:
Built Jenkins pipeline running inside Kubernetes cluster with automated git polling, parallel build/test stages, Docker image building with semantic versioning, automated Docker Hub pushes, and Kubernetes deployment automation. Complete pipeline executes in 5-10 minutes from code commit to production.

📊 MONITORING:
Deployed Prometheus and Grafana monitoring stack with custom metrics endpoints exposing HTTP request rates, error rates, and latency. Built real-time dashboards with service discovery for automatic pod monitoring.
